CJS is based in the middle of the North Yorks Moors and many of the team live in or close to the village. As such we are well aware of the many problems faced by rural locations; from the threat of closure hanging over the village primary school to the loss of local amenities and shops, we fought to keep our Post Office open. being one of the National Park's 'honeypot' villages means we are all too familiar with the problems brought by an excessive number of visitors whilst being well aware of the necessity of tourism to keep the area functioning.
Revitalising rural locations is an important often overlooked element of countryside conservation. CJS has always advertised rural regeneration projects and vacancies, however, we are not aware of many and CJS is rarely considered when recruiting.
This is something we're aiming to change. CJS has a tailor made audience of rural dwellers and, countryside workers and managers who are also very aware of the problems faced by rural and/or remote locations and can bring a depth of knowledge and skills to help Rural Regeneration projects to succeed.
