Grants and Funding

Miscellaneous sources of funding, for groups and individuals. If you are undertaking a FdSc, BSc, MSc or PhD course in a forestry or woodland management related subject, the Royal Forestry Society Viking Bursary could help you study any aspect of forestry which benefits the practical management and resilience of woodlands in the UK. Applications for the Weston Charity Awards 2023 are open to environmental charities for the first time thanks to a collaboration between The Garfield Weston Foundation and Pilotlight. The Awards offer a package of support worth over £22,000 to small charities in the North of England, the Midlands, and Wales: https://www.pilotlight.org.uk/weston-charity-awards

 

Rewilding Britain has launched a new Rewilding Challenge Fund that will award £100,000 in funding to one large-scale rewilding project annually. The fund asks applicants to 'Think Big, Act Wild' and will nurture initiatives which show maximum potential for upscaling rewilding on land and at sea. The National Lottery Heritage Fund offers grants for heritage projects across the UK that involve activities and capital works from £3,000 upwards. The Heritage Fund is able to support both natural and cultural heritage and has identified supporting landscape and nature projects as a key priority for investment. https://www.heritagefund.org.uk/
