Professional Work Placement (PWP) in Ornamental Horticulture - Royal Horticultural Society

Salary: £20,319 per annum
Hours of work: This is a full-time work-based training programme (37.5 hours per week) with a working pattern of 5 days out of 7 (including weekend and occasional evening work).
Duration: One year (fixed-term)
From the naturalistic plantings of perennials and grasses on Clover Hill, to the intricate detail of the Modern Rose Garden and Herbaceous Border in the Hilltop Garden, you will learn about a range of horticultural maintenance tasks and techniques throughout an intensive work experience placement teaching you how to ensure that these varied areas of the Garden always look their best.
Apprentice Countryside Rangers - Kent Wildlife Trust
We are currently seeking five passionate and motivated individuals to join our team as a Countryside Ranger Apprentice on a fixed term contract of 29 months, starting between June and September 2024. As a countryside ranger assigned to a specific area within Kent, you will have the chance to work in some of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in the country, playing a pivotal role in conserving wildlife and protecting the environment.
We have partnered with Sparsholt College to deliver this Level 4 Countryside Ranger apprenticeship through a blend of virtual and face-to-face training. This training, complemented by comprehensive on-the-job experience with Kent Wildlife Trust, ensures a full learning experience.

The Wellbeing and Communities Professional Work Placement (PWP) candidate will be involved in all aspects of therapeutic and community gardening practiced at RHS Bridgewater.

The one year Professional Work Placement (PWP) programme will enable you to learn about the science, art and practice of horticulture in the setting of RHS Garden Harlow Carr and the specialist areas of Streamside & Alpines. The Alpine Zone and the Streamside at RHS Harlow Carr sits at the heart of the site and has inspired visitors for many years. Throughout this placement you will work within the Garden’s departments and with its teams and individuals to gain knowledge, skills, training and experience of Alpines and Streamside plants in the work-based context to prepare you for professional life in the industry.
Ure Connected Project Intern - Lower Ure Conservation Trust

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to assist with the delivery of our two-and-a-half-year National Lottery Heritage Fund project ‘Ure Connected – Engaging People with Nature in the Lower Ure Valley’. The project’s aim is to increase capacity for nature conservation and restoration on undermanaged Priority Habitats in the area while also increasing engagement with the local community.
Based primarily at Nosterfield Nature Reserve, you will carry out a variety of tasks, taking in aspects of both practical conservation and community engagement.
