ACT Habitat Restoration Trainee - Argyll & The Isles Coast & Countryside Trust

Do you want to help to make an impact on the restoration and appreciation of Argyll’s unique habitats?

Argyll and The Isles Coast & Countryside Trust (ACT) are offering a trainee position for a graduate to kick-start their career in habitat management and restoration. The role provides hands-on experience in project management, peatland restoration design, ecological monitoring, and community engagement. Initially assisting project staff, the successful candidate will gradually work more independently as their skills grow.

Community Engagement Intern - Cornwall Council

Contract Length: 12 months

Location: Drakewalls, Gunnislake, Cornwall

The Community Engagement Intern will co-develop and co-deliver community engagement events which promote connection to nature, support community creation of habitat for wildlife, promote wellbeing, and enhance the community's knowledge of the natural world. This role will work primarily with the Tamara and Tamar Valley National Landscape Teams, but also individuals, community groups, parish councils and other partners.

Apprentice Gardener - English Heritage

As our Apprentice Gardener you’ll play an active role in the gardens team, developing and broadening your plant knowledge and horticultural skills through hands-on gardening and expert guidance. You’ll complete a Horticulture Operative level 2 apprenticeship with a designated training provider. You’ll be assisting with seasonal maintenance of the gardens and work closely with the garden team to learn skills in care of specialised historic and botanic plant collections. You'll be taught how to use garden machinery and develop skills in plant production.

Apprentice Gardener - English Heritage

You’ll be working at Mount Grace Priory, House and Gardens near Northallerton and additionally at Richmond Castle and Barnard Castle, 24 miles and 39 miles away from Mount Grace.

Arborist Apprentice - Beechwood Trees & Landscapes Ltd

Hedge Laying Trainee - five month traineeship - Hedgelife & CPRE Hampshire

Start date Approx. 4th Nov 2024 until end of March 2025 (5 months)

CPRE Hampshire, in partnership with professional hedge layers in Essex are running a 5-month traineeship in the traditional craft of hedge laying. The traineeships will also include hedge planting and coppice management.

The position is designed for someone who has a genuine interest in a career in hedge laying, with some outdoor practical working experience.
