Job Responsibilities:

Championing Amphibians and Reptiles, habitat management, creation and restoration, and engagement in Wales,

  

Majority of time is spent doing:

Habitat management, creation and restoration, and engagement in Wales. Training the public in ecology, survey techniques and habitat management. Community engagement, monitoring reintroduced species, monitoring habitats post intervention, surveying species, arranging EPS licensing and SSSI consents. Working with the media.

Time is spent indoors & out and it’s always busy. Summer: survey, engagement, preparatory work for winter. Autumn: survey, engagement, preparatory work for winter. Winter: pond and habitat management, creation and restoration. Spring: survey and engagement.

  

Qualifications needed:

I have a lifetime of specialist field experience, creating my first pond at age 8 and finding my first sand lizard at age 9. I am licensed to work with protected species.

Additional training: Chainsaw, Chipper, Brushcutter, Clearing saw, DBS,

Skills needed: Communication skills, focus, adaptability, resourcefulness & patience.
