Are you interested in plants, gardening or horticulture, but new to the industry?

We are delighted to be able to offer horticultural apprenticeships at each of our five RHS Gardens: Hyde Hall, Rosemoor, Bridgewater, Harlow Carr and Wisley.

This apprenticeship will enable you to learn about the science, art and practice of horticulture in the setting of an RHS Garden, and in doing so, work within its departments and with its teams and individuals to gain knowledge, skills, training and experiences in and of horticulture (in terms of study and the work-based context).



Level 3 Landscape/Horticulture Supervisor Apprenticeship (L3) - Royal Horticultural Society

Do you have at least three months’ worth of work experience in horticulture, and want to learn more about horticulture and develop team leader/supervisory skills?

We are delighted to be able to offer the Level 3 apprenticeship programme at RHS Garden Rosemoor.

This apprenticeship will enable you to learn about the science, art and practice of horticulture in the setting of an RHS Garden. You would work within its departments and with its teams and individuals to enhance and deepen your current understanding of horticulture, and develop Level 3 knowledge, skills and experiences to prepare you for professional life in the industry.

The job will entail managing a diverse rural estate in the Ashdown Forest. The estate includes a historic main house, a handful of let residential properties both on-site and in the surrounding area, traditional agricultural buildings, gardens, grounds, 65 acres of permanent grassland under environmental stewardship, and 240 acres of woodland.

Seasonal Tree Nursery Assistants x 2 - Moor Trees

Each nursery will be growing over 25,000 native broadleaved trees to enable the delivery of our woodland creation programme.

Cairngorms Rare Plants & Wild Connections Community Scientist (0.6FTE) - Plantlife

Plantlife Scotland are seeking a community scientist to work with people in the Cairngorms on the Rare Plants and Wild Connections project, a National Lottery Heritage Funded project. You will be part of a small friendly team delivering an exciting programme of community engagement, citizen science and outreach work aimed at empowering local people to conserve some of the National Park’s rarest plants and valuable habitats. The community scientist role is part time (3 days a week, 0.6 FTE) and is a fixed term contract from April 2021 until December 2023 and you will report to the Cairngorms Rare Plants and Wild Connections project manager .You will lead on developing and delivering an engaging programme of events, using a blended approach of digital communication tools and outside activities to work with a wide range of people from young people, local communities, partner organisations, landowners and visitors.

Tree Nursery Officer x 2 - Moor Trees

The RHS School of Horticulture (SoH) has been at the forefront of horticultural training for over 100 years. It’s one year Specialist Horticultural Placement (SHP) programme will enable you to learn about the science, art and practice of horticulture in a specialist field, in the setting of an RHS Garden.

RHS Level 3 and Level 4 Diploma in Horticultural Practice Students - Royal Horticultural Society
