Are you an all-rounder who can happily switch from producing budget spreadsheets to giving an engaging presentation to a community group in the same day? Can you communicate well at all levels, developing fruitful relationships and inspiring colleagues, partners, potential funders and landowners with a creative approach to making things happen on the ground to improve biodiversity and water quality in our river catchment?
JOB: Water Quality Monitor
LOC: River Thame Catchment (Aylesbury, Thame, Dorchester-on-Thames)
FOR: The River Thame Conservation TrustClean, unpolluted water can support rich and diverse wetland plant and animal communities. Sadly it only takes a little pollution to cause the loss of much of this wildlife. With increasing pressures on the freshwater landscape it is important to monitor the water quality of streams, rivers and ponds to pick up harmful pollution and to ensure we continue working towards good water quality in which wildlife can thrive. We are looking for volunteers to help monitor the water quality of the River Thame and its hundreds of surrounding waterbodies by using quick and simple kits to measure the levels of two widespread nutrient pollutants, nitrate and phosphate. These two nutrients are invisible to the eye, but within a few short minutes and a colour change reaction you can make the invisible visible, and contribute to a catchment wide survey. Choose as many sites as you would like - time commitment is up to you ASK: For more information please visit: https://c-js.co.uk/2nEmxVf
