Field Assistant – Adders Up Project - North Pennines National Landscape
Salary: Grade 2 - £ 22,737 to £23,114 per annum

We have a new opportunity as a Field Assistant for a period of 4 months to join the team at the North Pennines National Landscape. As the Field Assistant you will work supporting the Researcher in the field survey of adders and with recording habitat variables on site using established survey and sampling techniques. You will help with data collection and recording in the field, entering data onto excel and GIS software, and with collating and storing field photographs. You will assist the Researcher with planning all survey work including seeking landowner permissions, completing health and safety checklists, and preparation and maintenance of equipment.
Researcher – Adders Up Project - North Pennines National Landscape
Salary: Grade 8 - £30,296 to £33,945 per annum
Employment Location: North Pennines National Landscape Office, Stanhope (hybrid working options available).
The “Adders Up” project is a three-year programme from the North Pennines National Landscape team (hosted by Durham County Council) of public engagement to locate and raise awareness of adders, and land management activity to conserve and restore populations of adders in the North Pennines. As the Researcher you will lead on the field surveys of adders with support from the Field Research Assistant. You will lead on data recording and management in the field, and ensuring data, field photographs and camera trap images are stored in a secure and systematic manner.
