Green Angels Project Officer

Fixed term contract: 18 months, full-time (with potential to continue to December 2023)

Location: Hassall Green, Sandbach, Cheshire

The Land Trust is an independent charity dedicated to the management of green spaces for community benefit. We provide a cost effective solution for public open spaces, which delivers significant benefits such as health improvements, social cohesion, economic and environmental uplift and educational resources.

The Green Angels Project Officer manages the development and delivery of a programme of educational and community engagement activities at the Trust’s site at Hassall Green, working directly with the Green Angels Project Manager and other colleagues to ensure that the project is fully integrated in the Trust’s operations. You will need to be passionate about the importance of local communities and their involvement with the environment. A DBS check will be necessary for this role.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • To organise and co-ordinate a schedule of activities to ensure quality training and engagement for local communities
  • To work with stakeholders to promote and facilitate Green Angels activities on site
  • To take a lead in the recruitment of trainees
  • To develop and maintain positive/supportive relationships with beneficiaries
  • To maintain good relationships with managing partner staff
  • To respond quickly and efficiently to any queries about the project
  • To monitor and maintain feedback mechanisms, producing regular reports on outcomes
  • To maintain a strong Green Angels/Land Trust presence on social media
  • To work closely with Land Trust’s Communications team to ensure that Hassall Green-Green Angels maintains a high profile and that they are up-to-date with activities/developments

Skills and Experience:

  • Confident working with a range of people and groups
  • Self-starter, works well independently
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Well organised, able to prioritise, good time management skills
  • Good social media skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and Publisher
  • Full clean driving licence and use of a car
  • Relevant degree or higher education qualification
