This summer we will be launching a new three-year Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) funded Farming in Protected Landscapes programme which will provide grants to farmers and land managers looking to deliver on climate, nature, access and landscape outcomes.
We’re currently looking for a Farming in Protected Landscapes Administrator to join our Farm Conservation Team, on a temporary term basis until March 2024. The role is full-time, based at our Grassington office.

The role will be integral to the successful delivery of the new DEFRA funded programme within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and will include:
Financial management of multiple funded projects as part of the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme;
Leading the administration of the programme, including developing relevant protocols to enable monitoring of projects;
Provide a technical support role for the programme, including arranging meetings, events and workshops;
You should be an experienced administrator within a local authority setting, able to work under your own initiative, with an organised approach to the role. You will have experience of using administrative systems, with knowledge of IT packages such as Microsoft and Geographic Information System (GIS).
You will be a strong communicator with an understanding of confidentiality. Having the ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines and manage competing demands, as well as excellent report writing skills are key to this role.
