We are Forestry England. We are the country’s largest land manager, caring for the nation’s forests for people, nature and the economy. The foundation of our organisation is our world-class sustainable forest management.
Our South District team consists of around 180 people. From Foresters to Volunteer Co-ordinators, we all contribute towards the management of some 46,000 hectares of land across public woods and forests, and two national parks.
We are looking for a dedicated Tractor Driver to help us care, manage and enhance our woodlands, habitats, and facilities in our Ringwood and Wareham Beats. Using your previous work experience and machinery operating skills, you’ll work on a wide range of countryside management tasks including road and ride side mowing and vegetation management, ground preparation, control of scrub as well as general estate maintenance.
It’s essential that you have experience operating tractors and tractor mounted tools in a range of environments and can demonstrate an enthusiasm for practical work outdoors.
You may also hold a qualification in FMOC (Forest Machine Operator Certification) for the use of tractor base unit, mulcher, scarifier, winch extraction and sprayer, although the FMOC qualification is desirable and not essential.
In return, we offer an attractive salary and benefits package including generous annual leave and a government pension scheme. We also provide a range of training and learning opportunities to help you develop your skills.
