Shadow Ranger Voluntary Scheme

Forestry England are providing a voluntary scheme known as Shadow Rangers. This voluntary scheme is targeted at individuals seeking to gain experience in the countryside sector. 

A number of 6 month opportunities are available across Central England Forest District. Volunteering 1-3 days per week, each opportunity allows volunteers to develop on the job skills in their chosen work area.  Opportunities available are within the following teams - National Forest, Manchester and Nottinghamshire Community Woodland teams, Salcey and Cannock with the recreation rangers and Sherwood with the Bushcraft team.

Help our visitors get the most out of Dalby & present a knowledgeable & enthusiastic welcome to the public. You could be giving general information about the facilities, advising on the best cycle trail or explaining where to spot the Gruffalo! Dalby is a special place to many people & we always want to provide a top quality experience for our hundreds of thousands of visitors. Your knowledge of Dalby, combined with warm enthusiasm, will be the icing on the cake to make a good day a great one. Volunteering with us is a great way to get outside, meet people, learn something new & develop new skills, all in the beautiful setting of Dalby Forest.
