As Gwent Wildlife Trust’s Nature Recovery Officer (NRO), you will oversee practical action for wildlife and engagement activities for volunteers at our nature reserves, as well as working with partners and neighbours to help support further action to help ensure nature is in recovery.

Water Vole Project Officer - Gwent Wildlife Trust

Contract type: Fixed term – 18 months from start date.

Working hours: Full-time. Some evening/weekend work may be required (flexible hours, according to the needs of the volunteers/communities).

Location: Working principally on the Gwent Levels. Working flexibly from home and any GWT Office.

As Gwent Wildlife Trust’s Water Vole Project Officer, you will be responsible for the coordination and undertaking of survey work relating to habitats, Water Vole and Mink on the western end of the Gwent Levels. This survey work informing the production of a Water Vole Reintroduction Feasibility Study and if appropriate licence application. The role will also involve landowner liaison, educational events and involving/upskilling volunteers to support your work.
