Editorial Assistant vacancy right here at CJS.

 

We are looking for someone to help run our busy small publishing and recruitment business.

Primarily working with our Features Commissioning Editor you will set features for the website and newsletters and assist in sharing features to our social media streams, this will include creating images from submitted photographs for sharing.

  

Able to work on your own initiative within a close-knit team. Good computer skills including excellent working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, and not afraid of using new or unfamiliar software. Ability to work with graphics required, basic knowledge essential but skills in image manipulation would be highly beneficial. Knowledge of the countryside, ecology and wildlife sectors is not essential but highly advantageous and if you can bring knowledge to add to the existing team that would be a distinct bonus.

12-16 flexible hours per week to include availability on Wednesday and/or Thursday for sharing items across social media and also during office hours on Monday or Tuesday for regular meetings with the Features Commissioning Editor. Remainder to be worked at your convenience.
Working from home with regular contact with the rest of the team and therefore must be UK based.

The CJS Team are all self-employed working on a cooperative basis, the successful candidate will be offered a contract on a similar basis for an initial one year term (subject to ten week probationary period). Remuneration of £11 (excl VAT if appropriate) per contracted hour plus option to join profit share.

As you are working from home you should ensure that you have reliable and secure wifi access; a windows compatible computer, a suitable workspace and are prepared to undertake distance learning and training.

You will become a valued member of the CJS Team. Although this is a working from home position we are looking for someone to fit into our existing team, including the office dogs!
