What is CJS Weekly?

The original Countryside Jobs Service, first published in July 1994.

As the name suggests it is published weekly, every Friday.  Each edition contains job adverts - more than online - volunteers opportunities, the news from the week in full plus regular updates on the latest training courses and professional events; articles written specifically for by CJS from our Featured Charity, in depth features from countryside organisations and sometimes by CJS staff.  All in one handy package delivered direct to your inbox on Friday or in hard copy to your desk on Mondays.

Sounds fantastic - how do I get a copy?

You can request a sample copy here.

Or sign up now to join thousands of like-minded countryside professionals receiving a regular copy (If you're volunteering ask your co-ordinator about CJS, many charities like RSPB and National Trust have group subscriptions for their vols to use).

What if I don't like it or get a job?

Simply contact the CJS Team and we'll cancel your subscription and refund the remainder (or you can be generous and donate it to our featured charity)

This is our CJS promise: Your satisfaction or a refund - no quibble.

How much does it cost?

Just 50p a week for a minimum of 5 weeks.  Free year for all students and new graduates.

Why should I pay when so much is freely available online?

You're a countryside professional - you didn't get into outdoor and conservation work to spend hours indoors infront of a computer trawling the internet for the hint of a job.  Sign up to CJS Weekly to receive a regular up to date package of jobs, news etc and you can get on with doing more of what you love.

Not quite everything we advertise goes on the website, Standard Free Linage is just that: free for advertisers so it very popular but those adverts ONLY appear in CJS Weekly.  In 2022 we reintroduced the unique CJS Digest of Vacancies - a sort of search engine for jobs advertised across the internet. You can read more about the Digest here. This means that around 20% of the adverts are not posted online.

Early Access

Readers of CJS Weekly gain early access to many features, for example the calendar of training courses and events is included at the beginning of every month, it's not online for at least two more weeks. Job profiles and careers focused features are published in CJS Weekly several weeks before they're shared online.
