Experienced Ecologist

Are you an experienced ecologist looking for a new challenge?

  • Are you based in Sussex or looking to relocated for a fresh start (by the seaside?!)
  • Do you want to work as part of a close-knit team of committed ecologists, for an independent firm which has held a strong reputation for high quality environmental planning for over 20 years?
  • If the answer to the above is 'yes' then CSA Environmental would love to hear from you! We are looking for an experienced ecological consultant to join our team in Brighton, starting autumn 2021 (permanent contract).

Projects include new greenfield residential development, brownfield and mineral extraction sites, solar farms and wetland creation projects (and we get our fair share of interesting local small-scale projects too).

Our ecology teams (comprising >25 ecologists in four offices locations) work closely with each other, as well as our heritage, landscape and urban design teams to bring forward well-considered development proposals. We work hard to achieve schemes which deliver for people and for wildlife. Our website has many project examples and sets out our commitment to delivering biodiversity net gain.

For this role we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated ecologist, with experience of working in ecological consultancy, who has a good understanding of the planning system and of habitat and protected species work. • A willingness to undertake at least 2 evening/early morning surveys per week during busy periods (including overnight stays where required)
  • Have a full UK driver's licence and access to your own car for business use
  • Full / Associate membership of CIEEM / other professional bodies

In return for your commitment to CSA, you will receive an attractive salary and other benefits, as well as generous in-house and external training tailored to your career development. Overtime pay and flexible working arrangements are offered.
