We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Citizen Science Project Officer to help shape the future of the River Aire. You will work with volunteers to undertake Citizen Science and identify and develop riparian improvement projects. You will do this by developing their skill sets and empowering citizen scientists for our Riverfly Monitoring Programme, Water Quality Testing, Litter Monitoring and Invasive Species Mapping. You will also undertake river walkovers mapping out opportunities for future projects and helping to write bids for funding.
The Aire Rivers Trust is a Yorkshire based part of the growing Rivers Trust movement. We care for and improve the River Aire and its tributaries. The Citizen Science Project Officer will be based in our office in Greengates, Bradford, and cover the Aire catchment from Leeds to Gargrave. Successful candidates will combine experience of working with volunteers with GIS skills and an understanding of river ecosystems.
