Senior / Principal Ecologist

ADAS is seeking a Senior Ecologist/Principal Ecologist to join our Wolverhampton office. The role is permanent, flexible and a hybrid office and home working position with flexibility in the split. The role will be mainly focused on large infrastructure but with opportunities to work with our ecologists on a range of other projects. Our Ecology business comprises a highly skilled team focused on providing services to a wide range of clients, particularly developers, utility companies and the renewable energy and rural industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as a team with our existing ecologists to ensure quality projects are delivered on time to our clients
  • Managing our large infrastructure projects from inception to finalisation
  • Write and apply for mitigation licences and support wider project team with licensing
  • Species lead for Great Crested Newts (other species also an option)
  • Lead on construction site supervision duties in relation to licences and general ecology
  • Project team coordination and management
  • Client management and providing solid technical advice
  • Sub-contractor management and liaison
  • Opportunities to work on other projects with the wider team

Person Specification:

  • Graduate level education in a relevant subject
  • Great Crested Newt licence holder (other species licences desirable)
  • Associate Level CIEEM membership or above
  • An in-depth knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques
  • Named ecologist on mitigation licences – preferably Great Crested Newts
  • A full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and be commutable to our office
  • CSCS card

Salary and Benefits

  • Up to £45,000 depending on experience
