Senior and Junior Consultants - Ornithology

NIRAS has a leading position in sustainable development within the marine environment, with significant contributions to this green energy transition. We provide environmental consultancy services in relation to offshore wind, sub-marine cables, and other sectors. Our UK Marine Environment team specialise in helping developers and policy makers take the best approach to the development and operation of marine infrastructure. We undertake environmental impact and strategic environmental assessments, marine and coastal surveys, marine permitting and compliance support, marine investment planning for blue chip companies in technology and renewable energy sectors, and have key involvement in marine and coastal developments across the world. Our UK international consulting team works in development cooperation with an emphasis on responding to the climate crisis, the natural environment and green energy.

Examples of current projects include:

  • Development of compensation measures for Hornsea 03 wind farm (├śrsted)
  • Strategic Environmental Assessment for Offshore Energy Island in the Danish North Sea (Energinet)
  • HRA for Celtic Sea Floating Offshore Wind (Crown Estate)
  • EIA for La Gan offshore wind farm in Vietnam (CIP)
  • Support for the development of port facilities for offshore wind development in Shetland (Shetland Islands Council)

We have exciting opportunities available for experienced and junior Marine Ornithologists to join our UK team of highly regarded marine environment specialists to support the development of our international portfolio of marine consulting work. The appointed individuals will be given every opportunity to develop their role in line with their professional interests, skills and experience, and have the opportunity to lead and contribute to initiatives that inform the future direction and shape of the NIRAS European and international sustainable marine development portfolio
