Community Engagement Officer

We are looking to appoint a confident, innovative and enthusiastic person to join our Wild City team, as a Community Engagement Officer.

The main functions of this role are to:

  • Provide high quality wildlife and environmental education and engagement activities and opportunities for local communities within the urban areas of Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside and South East Northumberland.
  • Establish and deliver regular activities with key groups.
  • Provide a programme of activities and events for children during the school holidays.
  • Work with local communities and volunteers to develop green spaces for wildlife and public benefit.
  • Develop a range of materials across various media to support education and engagement activities.

The role is for 21 hours per week and the contract is for a 24 month period.
