The LookOut Discovery Centre, Hyde Park, with occasional work in other parks
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London.
We are now looking for Learning Officers to join us on a casual, ad-hoc basis and assist with meaningful lifelong learning and engagement opportunities, enabling visitors of all ages to explore, discover and understand our wonderful parks.
- Salary of £15.49 per hour
- Working in a beautiful location in the centre of London
As a Casual Learning Officer, you will assist the running of exciting outdoor learning programmes across the central Royal Parks.
Providing inclusive, unique, high-quality experiences across nature, heritage and wellbeing, you will work with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. You could be involved in anything from leading nature sessions independently for year 3 students, to running conservation work with teenagers as part of a team, to welcoming families with simple but engaging activities at our Discovery Days.
To be considered as a Casual Learning Officer, you will need:
- Experience of enthusing school students with the natural world
- Strong organisational skills to prepare for sessions, and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with which to deliver sessions
- A passion for the Royal Parks’ amazing nature and heritage.
If successful, you will be invited to a series of induction days. These are expected to take place in the second half of March.
Please note that because this job involves working with children, we will ask you to complete an Enhanced DBS check. You must tell us in your application if you have any convictions, bind-overs or cautions, even if they are spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Please note that disclosing a conviction does not necessarily bar you from appointment.
So, if you’re keen to inspire our visitors as a Learning Officer, please apply via the button shown. Successful candidates will be appointed on merit.
