Salary: Starting salary of £5/hour with a salary progression over the 18mth period
Hours: 42.5 hours/week
Duration of post: 18 months
Location: River Stewardship Company office (Sheffield), with travel primarily across Yorkshire and the North East.
The River Stewardship Company is a social enterprise based in Sheffield with a rapidly growing portfolio of commercial waterway maintenance projects with the Environment Agency, local authorities, riparian landowners and others.
Purpose of the job
The Water Environment Worker Apprenticeship provides a fantastic opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and experience for employment within the water environment and wider conservation and land management sectors.
Whilst working towards their Level 3 Water Environment Worker Apprenticeship (through Bridgewater and Taunton College), the apprentice will work within the site-based team to help deliver a range of water catchment management projects in Yorkshire (and occasionally beyond).
Delivery tasks on site may include (but are not exclusive to) invasive species control, vegetation management, tree management, debris and waste management, moorland restoration work and the occasional delivery of volunteer days.
