Ranger (maternity cover)

Northumberland National Park is a stunning expanse of natural beauty, rich in cultural heritage and biodiversity. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Ranger. As a Ranger, you will play a crucial role in the conservation and enjoyment of this unique landscape, ensuring that visitors have a memorable experience.

• £26,873 - £29,777 per annum 
• Full time (37 hours per week)
• Must be able to work weekends and bank holidays
• Temporary contract (maternity cover up to 12 months)
• Based at Bardon Mill, Northumberland.

You will need:

• Good knowledge and obvious passion for Northumberland National Park
• Formal training or experience in a Ranger based or countryside management discipline.
• Experience of working with and supervising volunteers, community groups and student placements.
• Ability to monitor and survey rights of way.
• Be able to assist with the delivery of programmes of engagement and education work including leading guided walks.
• Able to work on own initiative, alone and unsupervised.
• Ability and experience of working with school groups to deliver education sessions
• Demonstrable ability to deliver practical maintenance tasks and projects, including the fabricating, repairing and installation of gates, stiles, signage and way marking (list not exhaustive).
• Ability to travel to sites in order to fulfil the requirements of the role
