This is a full-time permanent role based in the UK as part of the Common Purpose team, which is responsible for leading and developing the organisation’s environmental work – a key strategic priority for Common Purpose. We focus on developing programmes for leaders who are working on environmental issues (they are not necessarily in the environmental sector as our work gathers leaders from all walks of life who are tackling environmental challenges).

We are a registered charity working to develop leaders who can cross cultural, institutional, and social boundaries. We are an organization founded on strong social purpose and we live this continuously through our work. An important part of our values is to support diverse talent and as part of that our commitment is to ensure that people from under-represented backgrounds have places on our programmes. Over 75,000 professional staff and almost 40,000 students across the globe have participated in our programmes.

Our Programmes Manager will work independently, with support from colleagues to plan, manage, set-up and deliver on two exciting new Nature Recovery Leadership Programmes, run in-person and online for emerging leaders involved in nature recovery. The Programmes Manager will be someone who has excellent administrative and logistics skills and is a clear communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver against clear and timely project plans, ensuring the Programmes are delivered within agreed milestones and budgets.
  • Research, identify and secure venues, hotels and catering and will support on outreach to find a balanced range of speakers.
  • Plan, organise and manage the Programmes, ensuring quality and consistency of participant experience.
  • Provide clear, professional communications and support to Programme participants, alumni and partners during and beyond the programmes.
  • Support the practical delivery of the Programme, both online and in-person.
  • Gather assessment feedback and support the production of accurate, clear evaluation reports for our funders and partners.
  • Collaborate with Common Purpose colleagues locally and globally (across different time zones, locations, and teams), using systems and networks appropriately, efficiently, and transparently.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an administrative or project management role.
  • Excellent project planning and management skills, able to create and maintain effective project management and planning systems.
  • Be able to demonstrate how you have delivered successfully in a fast-paced environment, dealing with multiple tasks and shifting deadlines/requirements.
  • Experience of working in a remote/dispersed role.
  • Be passionate about helping to develop leaders who are working to tackle environmental challenges and to shape a more inclusive and sustainable future.

All applicants must also:

  • Have excellent written English, oral communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting on the phone/video calls and in-person.
  • Be able and willing to travel for short periods of time (possibly outside of normal working hours) when asked to support programme delivery.
  • Be confident and proficient in the use of MS Office and Zoom (and ideally, project planning tools).

If you have a passion for making a difference and are looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic non-profit organization, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Please send us your CV and cover letter through our careers page - we will not consider any applications that don’t contain a cover letter.
