Botanical Ecologist - Scotland

Bowland Ecology is a well-established and thriving ecological consultancy. Due to continued growth, we are seeking to appoint a Botanical Ecologist to our friendly and supportive team. The role will be based at our office in central Glasgow with the option for flexible home working. The successful candidate must be able to travel throughout Scotland as required.

Scope of role (Botanical Ecologist)

  • Manage own projects (including fee proposals and client liaison) and assist with the management of other projects as required
  • Plan, coordinate and undertake habitat surveys including NVC, UKHAB, GWDTE, peatland surveys other specialist botanical surveys as required
  • Production of ecology reports, desk studies and plans, and data input, management and analysis
  • Design and implementation of simple ecological mitigation schemes
  • Assisting with other projects as required
  • Supervision of Assistant Ecologists

   
Successful Candidates (Ecologist) will:

  • Have a relevant degree level qualification
  • Have membership of CIEEM or equivalent
  • Have minimum 3 years in practice experience
  • Experience of botanical and habitat surveys, ideally to NVC level.
