South East Project Officer

Amphibian & Reptile Conservation is a national wildlife charity. Our work includes both practical land management and influencing policy outcomes through advocacy and through practical engagement. Working alongside Freshwater Habitats Trust, we have helped steer the design of local licensing schemes for great crested newts, and work closely with an independent, not for profit organisation, the Newt Conservation Partnership, to see that high quality habitats are created and maintained in a number of countries in England. As the scheme is expanding in the SE of England we are now recruiting:

South East Project Officer

Salary Range: £24,000-£27,000 p/a depending on experience

1-year full time contract with likelihood of renewal. This post will be home based, covering the South East initially with a focus on East Sussex. Candidates will ideally be based in or near East Sussex.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Officer who will work mainly with the Newt Conservation Partnership to restore or create habitats for great crested newts. You will require a knowledge of pond/ small water body and terrestrial habitat creation and management, particularly for amphibians.
