3 hours per day. Volunteering as a cat fosterer for our Lifeline service is a great way to give cats whose families are fleeing domestic abuse a loving, temporary home, until they can be reunited with their owner. We’re currently looking for Lifeline fosterers across England, Wales and Scotland. By fostering with Lifeline, you’ll be helping us to support someone in need of a temporary home for their cat. We’ll cover all costs so all you need to do is provide a loving home for your foster cat and send us lots of photos so we can give their owner updates. Fostering with our service is completely confidential, so you won’t actually know anything about the owner and they also won’t know your identity either. Our islands are internationally recognised for our wealth of seaweed diversity and, while slippery and slimy, seaweed is the real ocean superhero. Seaweed plays a big part in ocean ecosystems, food chains, and provides habitats for fish and animals to thrive. Join us to monitor the range and diversity of fourteen types of seaweed around your local coasts. With your input, we can study seaweed over time and learn more about our wider oceans and what environmental conditions are responding to climate change. Interested in exploring environmental campaigning and advocacy? This flexible, micro-volunteering role is a great way to stand up for the countryside if you don’t have much time to spare. You’ll take quick and easy online actions to support our campaigns from home at a time that suits you. We're particularly keen to recruit people aged 18 - 30 (although this role is open to everyone!) as we want to bring younger voices into our campaigning work. By taking easy online actions, you’ll help us to champion environmental issues such as the climate emergency, renewable energy, biodiversity and sustainable transport. We’ll ask you to take and feedback on England based campaigning actions, to inform what we do in the future. You'll join a group of enthusiastic volunteers taking actions and giving feedback that directly supports our campaigning work. Time: Flexible. Some actions will take as little as 5 minutes! JOB: Volunteer Breeding Bird Survey Coordinator

Each year, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust carries out breeding bird surveys on many of its nature reserves. The information is gathered by a team of volunteer surveyors and the results are used to inform our reserve management plans. We’re looking for an individual that is an organised coordinator, who’s great at communicating and has an eye for detail that can coordinate the team of surveyors, deal with associated admin of the project, and help to deliver an event once a year. Would you like to use existing project management skills, or learn how to manage a multi-layered project? Then we would like to hear from you! This is an exciting opportunity and one that’s invaluable to the Trust, which will coordinate a monitoring project that is making a real difference to Yorkshire’s wildlife. Time: Weekly/Flexible.
