Do you want to gain practical habitat management experience with a reputable conservation charity in the beautiful mountains of Croatia? During the month of July 2019, Association Biom - Birdlife International partner in Croatia - is looking for volunteers to help with a meadow restoration project in wild and ecologically rich Ucka National Park. Using a selection of tools, we will mow grass, clear scrub, and fell small trees to restore the crucial grassland habitat for the species it supports. This advertisement is for people looking for an adventure! Our camp is remote with only basic facilities, but is surrounded by the tranquil natural forests of the Ucka Mountain, ideal for wildlife enthusiasts. Join other volunteers and our experienced ringers to help check the mist nets every day and process the caught birds. This advertisement is for people looking for an adventure! JOB: Animal Husbandry Internship

This project is looking for long-term interns to help with the daily feeding and care of many animals, including sloths and macaws. Duties range from providing enrichment for the animals to training new volunteers. Interns are provided with a unique experience and will gain an in-depth understanding of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation work. Interns work 5 days per week from 7am to 3pm. JOB: Volunteer Primate Research Assistant

Minimum of 6 months. The majority of your time will involve working with samango and vervet monkeys. You will spend lots of time out in the field, alongside an experienced and passionate team of field biologists, and it’s likely that you’ll be involved in tasks such as: behavioural observations of habituated primates through full day follows and collection of standardized behavioural and demographic data from our study troops; experimental titrations of predation risk based on giving-up densities or predator detection experiments using predator models; habituation of new groups, sometimes tracking via VHF receivers to maintain contact; phenological transects and vegetation plots to estimate primate food availability; general data entry; assisting PhD students based at PPP with their data collection as required. We are looking for someone who is passionate, reliable, responsible, self motivated and enjoys working as part of a team. A biology / zoology / ecology background would be preferential.
