Ptyxis Ecology Training

Ptyxis Ecology has a national reputation in the conservation and ecology sector for high quality CPD botany and ecology courses delivered by trained teachers. All of our courses are now delivered via distance learning. These are not 'online' courses without any tutor input. Instead you are supported with detailed feedback on your work over six months as you learn through your own fieldwork. Course materials include structured learning activities and unique resources such as bespoke beginners botanical keys.

Long Courses

Understanding & using the NVC at Ptyxis Ecology

Starts May 2022: This course is designed to follow-on from an introductory NVC course to support you with using the NVC system. We concentrate on how to analyse quadrat data and work with floristic tables to work out what NVC types you have, rather than on how to do a field survey. 01435 321199

Identifying bryophytes in the field at Ptyxis Ecology

Starts October 2021: This course works best as a follow-on to an introductory bryophyte course and assumes that you have had some practice with observing features of bryophytes using a hand lens. The course concentrates on the 'top 100' common indicator species for BAP priority habitats and NVC communities. 01435 321199
