The Morton Hall Estate in north Nottinghamshire contains 75 ha of prize winning mixed woodlands. These are managed commercially to meet multiple objectives including timber production, biodiversity and amenity using a Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF) approach. Annual forestry operations are expected to break even or show a small surplus.
The existing supervisor is retiring at the end of March 2021 after several decades of overseeing woodland management at Morton. We are looking to appoint an experienced individual to take over this position on a part-time basis.
If you are under 25 years old at the start of January 2021, have a commitment to learning outside the classroom. with a broad knowledge and understanding of the English National Curriculum, a knowledge of either pollinators, habitat creation and management, wildlife gardening or citizen science, we would love to hear from you. You must be fluent in the English language, able to write engaging learning resources and have excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.
