FOR: Whale and Dolphin Conservation

3 March - 31 October. Supporting the implementation of the WDC Scottish Dolphin Centre ‘events’ programme which runs from April to October and involves a variety of responsibilities including: creating, organising and delivering conservation events and activities - aimed at children from 3-11 years, young people and adults; organising and delivering conservation themed guided wildlife and nature walks; developing topical conservation talks and workshops; digital marketing; creating and managing social media posts; citizen science; working with the Scottish Wildlife Trust and the local Spey Fishery Board, assisting with the monitoring of mink and habitat management; attending a variety of local coastal community events; assisting with school visits and activities at the Centre and the also offsite events and Shorewatch site visits; delivering environmental interpretation - inspiring people through land-based dolphin watching, tours, talks and guided wildlife walks; visitor engagement; managing ‘front of house’ of the visitor centre. JOB: Shorewatch Residential Volunteer & Guide

FOR: Whale and Dolphin Conservation

3 March - 31 October. Role includes:  delivering environmental interpretation - inspiring people through land-based dolphin watching, tours, talks and guided wildlife walks; managing ‘front of house’ of the visitor centre including; welcoming visitors, customer service in the Centre’s eco-friendly gift shop (3-4 days per week); assisting the Policy Officer with the development of the WDC Shorewatch Programme; carrying out shore-based dolphin, whale and porpoise observations from various locations around Scotland, visiting partner organisations and cultivating relationships at these sites (1-2 days per week); citizen science - research in the form of hourly 10 min land-based cetacean watches; supporting recruitment and training of Shorewatch volunteers; digital marketing - managing social media as a tool to engage Shorewatch volunteers, creating physical and digital marketing resources; managing data collection and input from shore-based sites; support the organisation development and delivery of community events & talks; administration duties. FOR: WDC Scottish Dolphin Centre

3 March - 31 October. Role Includes:  assisting the Education Officer with the WDC schools programme including delivering talks, running workshops and assisting with group visits to the Scottish Dolphin Centre for groups of all ages from Primary School through to University (approx. 1-2 days per week); developing interpretative and educational resources; delivering environmental interpretation - inspiring people to take an interest and care for the environment through land-based dolphin watching, tours, talks and guided wildlife walks; visitor engagement - raising the profile of WDC - amaze & inspire our visitors (over 95,000 every year) about the world of whales and dolphins and the work that we do to protect them, keep visitors informed of the latest WDC campaigns; managing ‘front of house’ of the visitor Centre (3-4 days per week); digital marketing - creating physical and digital marketing resources; research in the form of hourly 10 minute land-based cetacean watches.
