As Conservation Officer, you will support our Ecologist in helping assess the potential ecological impact of planning applications on the National Park, the day-to-day management of Levisham Estate and developing conservation volunteering activities. Working closely with our Ecologist and Graduate Trainee, you will collect ecological and environmental data with the support of volunteers, process statutory planning applications and liaise with land managers on a range of existing conservation agreements.

The National Park is filled with picturesque towns and villages, peaceful moorland and dales, a dramatic coastline and is worthy of the recently awarded ‘International Dark Sky Reserve’ status. The North York Moors is a unique protected area with a broad diversity of habitats and ecosystems. We’re currently looking for a Rights of Way Officer to join us on a part-time basis, working 15 hours per week.

We need a high-quality person to lead our Ranger, Apprentice and related Estate Services and be part of a wider team of around 110 staff and 600 volunteers who are delivering a great service in a wonderful environment.
You will be playing the leading role to ensure our work on recreation and access continues to be strong, creative and dynamic, providing excellent opportunities for the public to enjoy our fantastic National Park.
