Salary: £ 25345 to 26172 + pension contribution (reflecting ‘on-call’ livestock responsibilities and depending on experience)

This is a permanent, full-time position.

Gwent Wildlife Trust is recruiting a full-time Senior Conservation Grazing Officer, working within the Usk to Wye (U2W) Living Landscape team.

The post holder will oversee our conservation grazing operations within U2W nature reserves, act as the point of call for conservation grazing, manage our organic, meat-box scheme and be responsible for the management and welfare of GWT’s rare breed sheep and cattle. This post will also manage cattle grazing across a few project based, lowland heathland sites. The post is based near Monmouth.

The Usk to Wye volunteer group carries out practical conservation tasks on a variety of our reserves. The work is varied throughout the year but there is always something for people of all abilities. We provide all tools & protective equipment but please wear sensible clothing for the time of year & sturdy work boots (steel toe caps if you have them) & bring a packed lunch.
