Link Together aims to bring those elements together, working at a grassroots level to create a thriving natural world that creates health and well-being benefits for communities across the Coalfield area of Sunderland.
The Link Together Project Manager will lead the 12 month development phase of this ambitious project and ensure that a successful second stage bid is submitted to the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This will release a significant package of funding to support a two year delivery phase. The Project Manager will then be responsible for leading on this two year delivery phase with a team of staff and volunteers.
The role is a great opportunity to take a project from conception to completion, and to work within a partnership that has a proven commitment to community delivery. Link Together is a joint project between Sunderland City Council and Durham Wildlife Trust and will deliver nature restoration and access improvements across Council owned sites and local stream. Outputs will additionally include a host of health and wellbeing initiatives and outcomes focused on local communities. Partners include, community groups, Sunderland GP Alliance and Wear River Trust.
It will be a challenging but highly rewarding role that will allow the successful candidate to achieve something truly significant for people and wildlife across the Coalfield Area.
