About you

If the answer is ‘YES’ to any of the above, then you could be the person we’re looking for to be part of Oxfordshire’s Tree Service.

About the role

We have two vacancies for a Tree Officer.

Each role comes with plenty of variety and is focused on problem solving in an innovative way. You will be encouraged to promote transparency and build trust with our communities by informing customers and stakeholders about our decision making process.

You could be undertaking a variety of functions that include:

  • large-scale parish surveys;
  • ad-hoc inspections;
  • building strong working relationships with tree contractors to enable better outcomes;
  • interaction with the public and Council staff;
  • opportunities to create your own projects;
  • expectation to manage your own time to enable delivery of work;
  • ownership of an area for which there is personal responsibility with continuous support from the Tree Service and other specialist disciplines.

You will contribute to tree management of Oxfordshire County Council’s tree stock with a focus on a specific area of Oxfordshire. You will work in partnership with colleagues in the Tree Service and the wider OCC Operations Team to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to tree management across the County.
