We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced and inspirational leader as our new Team manager for the Natural Environment for Blaenau Gwent
The Team Manager - Natural Environment is responsible for the development and delivery of a program of significant local and regional projects, as well as helping to address the Councils Climate Change and Nature Recovery ambitions.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for the management of a team of dedicated professionals, whilst working with a range of external partners from schools to industry and community groups with specific responsibility for;
As the new Team Manager, it will be a unique and exciting time to join Blaenau Gwent leading the way in developing the fantastic Natural Environment that the County Borough has to offer. As well as delivering the key Council Corporate Priority in enhancing the quality of and access to the Green Spaces of the County Borough for the benefit of its Communities and employers and visitors to the area.
This exciting role will require experience of working with a range of internal and external partners to deliver a diverse range of projects and Local Authority functions and the ability to manage, inspire and develop the Natural Environment project team.
The successful candidate will need to be experienced in working with community groups with good knowledge of the benefits of the natural environment. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a collaborative approach to working with a range of partner organisations including Natural Resources Wales, neighbouring Local Authorities, third sector organisations, community groups and internal departments.
The successful candidate will also retain the ability to contribute and influence landscape scale regional projects such as the Gwent Green Grid Partnership and the Valleys Regional Park are a key functions of the post.
Lastly, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven record of success in leading, managing and delivering in front line service areas, excellent communication skills and an ability to problem solve and ‘think on ones feet’.
