Full time - 5 days a week - 37.5hrs
An experienced candidate to work with the Cambridgeshire Reserves team and key volunteers to lead in delivering practical reserve management primarily on 22 sites covering wetlands, woodlands & grassland nature reserves of local and national importance (11 SSSI). There will also be need at times to work on some of our other 26 Cambridgeshire reserves and Great Fen project.
The Senior Reserves Officer for West Cambs will report to the Cambs Senior Reserves Manager. The position will line manage 2 Reserves Officers and work closely with Grafham Water Reserve staff. Leading on day-to-day running of some of our most important nature reserves in north and west Cambridgeshire. The role is mainly practical work with elements of project delivery and budget reporting, management recording and reviewing management plans, complete annual species and habitat surveys and monitoring work. The role will help to lead on key sites such as Brampton wood (SSSI), Upwood Meadows (SSSI\NNR), Stanground Wash (SSSI\SPA) and Dogsthorpe Star Pit (SSSI). Public engagement on sites, contractor management and liaison with graziers is required.
