This is an exciting opportunity to help Buckinghamshire Council address environmental challenges by taking on a leading role in delivering our response to climate change. The position sits within an expanding team and is critical to helping us achieve our ‘net-zero’ ambitions.
About the role
The Energy & Climate Change team provides the energy and carbon management function for the Council and coordinates climate change mitigation and adaptation activity. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of key projects for helping us reach net zero and ensure we identify new opportunities to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change. These will include our tree planting programme and other nature-based solutions, as well as engaging with colleagues to support cross council working on climate change.
We are looking for an experienced project manager with substantial experience in either energy management, climate change or a related sustainability field. An understanding of climate change policies is essential and experience in relation to the use of nature-based approaches to address climate change would be valuable (e.g. tree planting). Familiarity with public procurement processes and experience preparing tender specifications and managing budgets is also essential.
Closing date midnight - Sunday 19th of September.
