Cumbria Wildlife Trust is seeking a project officer to lead its community engagement work during the final 12 month phase of the award winning Get Cumbria Buzzing project in north and west Cumbria.
Get Cumbria Buzzing is a Cumbria Local Nature Partnership project hosted by Cumbria Wildlife Trust and funded by National Highways and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project is based at the Trust’s offices in Houghton just outside Carlisle.
The successful applicant will work with project partners to:
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate significant relevant experience, ideally with a recognised conservation organisation. Experience of working with volunteers, organising and running events is essential as are excellent written and face-to-face communication skills.
They will understand the importance of connecting people with nature and have at least a basic knowledge of pollinator’s and their ecology. They must be able to work as part of a dynamic team and be personally effective with a can-do attitude.
