Catchment Partnership Officer

Hours: 32 hours per week

Salary: £27,318.00 pro rata (32 hours = £21,854.00) 3% annual increase + pension contribution in line with Rivers Trust rate (currently 9%).

Contract: Fixed term, 3 years

Location: The Don Catchment. Hybrid working arrangement: office available in Doncaster, home working an option, site visits required.

Don Catchment Rivers Trust and the Environment Agency are co-hosts of the Don & Rother Catchment Partnership. We call our partnership the ‘Don, Dearne & Rother Network’.

The Don, Dearne & Rother Network brings together groups and organisations that work on improving the rivers of our catchment. We work towards the ‘Catchment Based Approach’ and our vision is for ‘Healthy, Resilient Rivers for Nature and People’.

The Catchment Partnership Officer will be employed by Don Catchment Rivers Trust. We are looking for an individual who excels at forging partnerships and creating shared visions for organisations to collaborate on. The role is an excellent opportunity for someone to contribute and shape the continuing recovery of our catchments rivers.

At Don Catchment Rivers Trust you will find a supportive, friendly team, and you will also work closely with the Environment Agency’s Catchment Co-ordinator. There are opportunities and resources in the role for professional development. The role is currently carried out in approximately one day per week, but owing to recent funding investment and capacity building at the Trust, the role has been expanded to 32 hours per week, and we are looking to build and improve upon what the Network delivers.

Key Skills:

  • An overview of the Don Catchment, an understanding of the issues it faces, and how it can be improved through partnership working.
  • An understanding of the Catchment Based Approach
  • Knowledge of the environmental organisations active in the Don Catchment and their roles.
  • Experience of GIS and presenting data.
  • Ability to facilitate discussion to reach consensus, and create an achievable plan of action.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and representatives of partner organisations.
