Ecological Contracting Assistants

ECOSA are looking for professional and reliable Ecological Contracting Assistants to help deliver our busy schedule over the coming months. We are keen to hear from ecological sub-contractors capable of implementing protected species mitigation solutions on site, such as wildlife fencing installation and habitat creation and management.

The work could involve assisting with any of the following tasks:

  • Installation of wildlife fencing;
  • Vegetation clearance / management;
  • Construction of mitigation features such as artificial badger setts and reptile hibernacula; or
  • Installation of wildlife boxes.

No prior experience is required; however, this is a physically demanding job which will require outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions, settings and locations. Applicants with prior experience in fencing installation, chainsaw and brushcutter ticket holders and / or experienced sub-contractors are particularly welcomed. A CSCS card is desirable.

We would also like to hear from experienced ecological field surveyors who can assist with our project delivery. We generally have ongoing projects requiring both survey work and translocation of a variety of protected species, including reptiles, great crested newt and hazel dormouse.

For the above works, you will need to be based in Hampshire or the adjoining counties and ideally be within travelling distance of our head office in Hampshire.

We generally work on projects across the South; however, you may be required to travel further afield and stay in accommodation overnight. Having your own transport and holding a full driving licence is therefore essential.

Positions are offered on a casual basis dependent on workloads and the projects we require assistance with. Rates of pay are hourly and subject to experience.
