The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales is seeking to recruit a Conservation Officer
Salary: £26,300 permanent contract
Location: Office base at the Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cilgerran, mixed with home-working.
Hours: 35 per week with flexi/ TOIL

We are looking for someone with sound ecological skills, a passion for wildlife and an aptitude for both outdoors and desk-based work to join our conservation team. You will be responsible for the delivery of habitat and species-focussed conservation work across West Wales, and supporting work in South Wales. This includes advice on habitats and species management, design and delivery of surveys and design and delivery of habitat and species conservation projects. Work will take place on our own land and with other landowners, and is funded by a mixture of grants and contracts. The role includes leading our continuing work to protect and strengthen the population of Red Squirrels in mid Wales.
You will work with an Assistant Conservation Officer, based in the east of our area and the Nature Recovery Manager. As part of the wider Conservation Team you will be helping us work towards nature’s recovery, demonstrating the relevance of our work to the climate and ecological crises and championing the intrinsic importance of wildlife.
