Nature Recovery Officer (Projects)

Salary: £24,467pa plus 7% pension

Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) is Devon’s leading wildlife conservation charity, with over 36,000 members, 350 regular volunteers, 100 staff and 63 nature reserves. We are one of the larger locally based organisations that collectively make up The Wildlife Trusts. DWT has pioneered the reintroduction of beavers in England and the restoration of internationally rare habitats like Culm Grassland.

DWT is seeking a passionate ecologist and communicator to work within the DWT Conservation Advocacy Team to realise our species and habitat recovery ambitions. The projects to be developed will be diverse and range from radical species reintroductions through to longer term ecosystem scale initiatives.

The postholder will forge positive links and build support from a wide range of stakeholders and partners. Projects will be ambitious and have high impact. The successful candidate will work with the support of an expert DWT team to ensure we develop projects with authority, confidence, and professionalism. Success will hinge on winning hearts and minds, combining passion with a rigorous scientific approach.

This is a full-time, permanent post contractually based at Cricklepit Mill. However, we will also consider applications from candidates who wish to work on a part-time basis. When applying, please indicate your preferred working pattern in your cover letter.
