Salary in the range of £24,134 to £27,388 per annum (inclusive of all allowances)
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of manging one of the UKs best wood pastures and a locally important heathland site in the final stages of restoration. Burnham Beeches National Nature Reserve and Special Area of Conservation and Stoke Common SSSI, combined consist of 750 acres of ancient woodland, wood pasture, valley bog and heathland visited by well over 600,000 people each year.

As a team player you will be involved in in a very wide range of habitat & site management work including working with veteran trees, heathland restoration and engaging with local communities, leading volunteers, and providing a welcoming and friendly site presence.
As the Conservation Assistant Ranger in addition to the above core duties you will also play a significant role in care and development of livestock management including with the use of invisible fences
Consistently striving for high quality customer care, you must be able to show an ability to be organised, a willingness to work outside in all weather (at times on difficult terrain) and have the desire and tenacity to develop new skills.
The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience working in countryside management and working with volunteers and a relevant qualification in Countryside Management or a related discipline. A full driving licence, good written and verbal communication skills, competency in a range of practical skills both for the countryside and in the office and a commitment to Continuous Professional Development are also necessary. Starting salaries will be dependent upon qualifications and experience
This post will work 37 hours per week and an average of one weekend in three.
