We are excited to announce that we have a brand new position of Agricultural Liaison Officer (ALO) at our Stirling Office. We are looking for an excellent communicator, who is diligent, tech savvy and interested in representing our clients’ projects and liaising with rural stakeholders. Whilst no two days tend to be the same at Dalcour Maclaren, we anticipate this role seeing a mixture of office working and time on site where our projects span the length of Scotland.

The Dalcour Maclaren Stirling office is one of our newest offices, having opened at the start of 2022. We are a busy and enthusiastic team looking for a driven ALO to come and join us. We are working on some of the largest infrastructure and utility projects across Scotland and our continued successes mean that we require a proactive individual to assist with delivering these projects. This role offers excellent career progression potential for the right person! Our established network of nationwide ALOs also means you will receive exceptional support and development opportunities from the moment you join us.

As an ALO you will:

  • Be the main interface between the client and landowners, occupiers and agents on a day-to-day basis and build key relationships with the affected parties.
  • Share insightful knowledge about agricultural practices and rural enterprises
  • Keep the client up to date and advise them on practical matters affecting land
  • Attend pre-entry meetings before the scheme enters the construction phase
  • Review contractor works to ensure they fall in line with any agreements made during pre-entry meetings
  • Deal with landowner complaints regarding on-site activities
  • Arrange site visits for serving notices, undertaking record of conditions and undertaking site meetings
  • Complete land referencing, including finding owners and occupiers of land
  • Assist the team and settle compensation claims

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent communicator with the willingness to learn and develop
  • Be tech savvy and good with IT systems and use of tablets
  • Have good knowledge of agriculture and rural affairs
  • Are self-motivated and organised
  • Have a full UK driving licence
  • Be a great team player and have a can-do attitude
