Volunteer & Engagement Officer

Northern Heartlands in partnership with Teesdale Special Flora Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Volunteer & Engagement Officer as part of Teesdale Special Flora’s “Plants on The Edge” programme funded by the Green Recovery Challenge through the National Lottery Heritage Fund

The successful applicant will:

  • Oversee a programme of creative activity in schools
  • Organise and host public exhibitions
  • Recruit volunteers
  • Help increase awareness of the unique flora of Teesdale
  • Support the work of Dr Margaret Bradshaw, MBE
  • Be part of a friendly and supportive team

Fixed term contract

Salary £28,000 pro rata, 3 days/week, based in the Northern Heartlands office in Barnard Castle and Widdybank Farm, Upper Teesdale (Headquarters of Natural England’s Moor House Nature Reserve).

Applicants must be educated to degree level or equivalent and have some experience of working with schools and in community settings and managing volunteers.
