Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s vision is a wilder Suffolk, where nature is thriving and abundant, because everyone is doing more to help. Working with Suffolk’s farming community is the essence of this approach, and the area where the greatest biodiversity uplift can happen.
We have a long history of working with a wide range of farmers and land managers across the county to support them to develop wildlife friendly and sustainable farming practices across Suffolk.
Well respected land managers in our own right, with strong linkages to many in the farming and land management community, we are investing significantly in our advisory team as one the key ways to deliver a wilder future for Suffolk. Our strategic framework recognises that a wilder Suffolk relies on everyone doing their bit for nature. We are in no doubt that reaching out to more people within our county is fundamental to long term success.
We have two new roles within the Wilder Landscapes Team.
The Senior Farm Adviser will develop and direct a farm wildlife advice service that meets the needs of farmers and land managers across the county ensuring that SWT’s advisory offer remains at the forefront in the current changing farming landscape. They will build and maintain networks using these to support and develop landscape scale projects that can deliver for priority species across a wide range of farmed environments. In addition they will break into new areas of farm advisory work for the Trust.
