Evenlode Catchment Partnership: Community Outreach Officer

Part-time, 0.6FTE (22.2 hours per week)

Salary - GBP 23,050 - 25,608 per annum pro-rata. Fixed term contract to 31st March 2025.

There has never been a Catchment-wide education and community outreach programme for the River Evenlode. The ECP aims to meet this urgent need by increasing the connection, educational experience and active involvement of young people and their wider communities with the River Evenlode.

Through this role, the ECP is keen to develop relationships with youth leaders and community groups (including those who support and champion under-represented groups) in order to deliver positive social and environmental outcomes. The role-holder will also work closely with the Education Officer, whose main role will be to develop partnerships with education professionals working in schools, colleges and universities within, and surrounding, the Catchment.

Key aims

  • Connect: To help youth and community groups access and visit their local stretch of the Evenlode River, with a focus on engaging and inspiring under-represented groups.
  • Support: To provide youth and community leaders with practical support and knowledge, so that they feel confident in engaging people to learn more about the River and its Catchment.
  • Act: To enable people from all walks of life to take positive action in caring for, and ecologically improving, the River Evenlode.
