Conservation Officer - Southern Nature Reserves, Worcestershire

Salary: Around £25,000 pa

Post Details: 35 hour week (occasional evenings and weekends), full-time, 8% employer contribution stakeholder pension, 4% employee contribution. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Location: Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip near Worcester, but the post holder will be expected to travel to sites mainly in southern Worcestershire.

We are looking for an experienced reserves officer to join our 5 officers and trainee team, between them managing 80+ nature reserves. Our Southern Reserves cover important lowland hay meadows and wet grassland, as well as semi-natural ancient woodland and wetlands

Working with our large group of dedicated volunteers you will maintain and improve these iconic sites as well as taking a lead in managing our reserve management equipment.

You will review and deliver practical management, co-ordinate volunteer teams for your sites, organise survey and monitoring work and devise projects to develop existing and new reserves. This is a varied and skilled role, and you will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience and a relevant qualification in land management, have good communication skills, an enthusiasm for wildlife, as well as a familiarity with GIS and management planning software. The post requires a full driving licence.
