Salary £18298 - Permanent contract - 37.5 hours a week
We are looking for an Assistant Ranger to join our team at Kinver Edge, to help with the protection and care of habitats, wildlife, property and machinery and inspire others to love this beautiful place as much as you do.
This will include engaging with visitors, maintaining our green spaces, assisting with guided visitor walks and delivering a wide range of engaging visitor experiences. You’ll also share and promote the work that we do here, respond to any queries and explain the value of the work being undertaken.
Much of the role is working with volunteers to improve and maintain the special habitats at Kinver and will include a significant amount of woodland and chainsaw work in the winter months. There are also exciting plans for large scale heathland restoration of conifer plantation which the successful applicant will be involved in. This role will suit someone who has a love of the outdoors and nature, an interest in active pursuits, and ambitions to work in land management within the conservation sector. There may be opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from across the Purbeck portfolio at Studland; including rangers, visitor experience teams and project staff to deliver our engagement and conservation strategies.
