This new role provides a unique and exciting opportunity to join the Small Woods Association woodland management and advisory team. We are looking for an innovative motivated individual who is passionate about woodland biodiversity, with excellent knowledge and experience of woodland habitats and, the principles of biodiversity and woodland ecology and a passion to communicate their role and importance in addressing the biodiversity crisis and the climate emergency.
The Small Woods Association is the UK’s leading organisation for everyone who is involved in hands-on management of small woodlands, whether as owners, managers, volunteers, woodland and coppice workers or community woodland members (https://smallwoods.org.uk/).
The post will support the delivery of a range of advisory and technical solutions in relation to the management and creation of small woodlands across the Severn Trent area in order to enhance their biodiversity potential. The primary function of the role will be to provide practical and advisory support to woodland owners, both the Association’s members and other small woodland managers and owners.
You will need to be able to work flexibly and independently as part of a field-based team. Job-sharing and part-time working will also be considered for this role. The job will be home based with occasional meetings at our head office in Coalbrookdale.
